1、 Principle

The microcapsules are coated with invisible dyes, color forming agents and temperature controlling agents. By selecting materials with different temperature control factors, color pigments with different temperature ranges can be produced.

2、 Product Description

A. Discoloration principle:

Color development at low temperature and colorless at high temperature.

B. Available product range:

-15℃ ~ 70℃。

C. Basic color:

15 colors are available at each temperature (only black and dark blue are available at 70 ℃), and colors can be mixed with each other, or other colors can be added. (The following colors are printing colors, subject to the actual materials, and the colors are similar to PANTONE color code.)

B. Warm water Lotion

a. Product description:

 Average particle size of temperature sensitive emulsion 3-10 μ m. It is an aqueous dispersion containing microcapsules, with a solid content of about 45% (± 5%).

b. Product characteristics:

  Good dispersibility in water, suitable for water-based inks and coatings.

c. Recommended dosage: (example: film-forming 20 μ m)

 Water lotion used in water-based inks and coatings 5% ~ 60% w / w (25%)

d. Precautions:

 High polar solvents, such as methanol, ethanol, acetone and butanone, shall not be mixed to avoid the influence of osmosis on the composition of the microcapsule.

  It is normal for warm water lotion to agglomerate and layer during storage. It can be stirred and heated to 45 ℃ with water bath for redispersion before use.

  PH value change may affect color change.

C. Temperature sensitive microcapsule powder

a. Product description:

  The average particle size of temperature sensitive microencapsulated powder is 3-10 μ m. It is a kind of microcapsule powder composed of composite formula, with water content ≤ 3%.

b. Product characteristics:

  The temperature sensitive microcapsule powder is a pigment, which is characterized by good solvent resistance and dispersion, and is suitable for injection and extrusion of ink, paint and plastic.

c. Recommended dosage: (example: film-forming 20 μ m. Plastic molding 0.2cm)

  Temperature sensitive microcapsule powder is used for water-based and oil-based inks and coatings 5%~30% w/w (25%)

Temperature sensitive microcapsule powder is used for plastic injection and extrusion 0.1%~5% w/w (0.5%)

d. Precautions:

  When using ink, avoid using highly polar solvents such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, butanone) to avoid the influence of osmosis on the composition of microcapsules.

  Avoid temperatures exceeding 230 ° C for injection applications.

D. Temperature sensitive masterbatch

a. Product description:

  The temperature sensitive color masterbatch contains about 12~18% microcapsule materials. The color intensity of microcapsule materials with different color systems is different. The proportion of microcapsule materials used in plastic injection and extrusion products needs to be adjusted.

b. Product characteristics:

  It is easy to disperse and use, and can be directly applied to plastic injection and extrusion.

c. Recommended dosage: (example: plastic molding 0.2cm)

  Temperature sensitive masterbatch is used for plastic injection and extrusion 1%~5% w/w (0.5%)

d. Precautions:

  Our standard masterbatch is PE masterbatch.

  Avoid adding only phenol series heat stabilizers, which will cause damage to product functions.

  The selection of light stabilizer and UV absorber may also affect the product function.

A. IT&DT Diagram

 IT: The color disappears when the low temperature rises to 28 ℃, and completely disappears when the temperature rises to 32 ℃.

 DT: The color appears when the temperature drops to 25 ℃, and the color concentration reaches 100% when the temperature drops to 22 ℃.

 (Note: The temperature of various colors will vary, and the heat conduction speed of the substrate will also affect the discoloration temperature range)

5、 Other information

A. Storage and duration: Store in a dry and cool place. Except for dark blue, grass green, Türkiye blue and coffee, the storage period is half a year, the storage period of other colors is 2 years.

B. Test report: Our temperature sensitive and color changing products have passed the EN-71 and RoHS tests. It can be used in food packaging and toy manufacturing.
